This topical session has the aim of illustrating the state of the art of geological evolution of Colombia from the Proterozoic to Quaternary.Colombia has global importance due to its particular characteristics, such as the confluence of three tectonic plates in the northwestern corner of South America and the register of the common and unique geological events of the Andes, which makes the country a natural laboratory to observe and describe diverse geological processes. We encourage the authors of the book The Geology of Colombia and other researchers studying Colombian regional geology or key geological events to submit their abstracts to the Topical Session T183 The Geology of Colombia for the GSA Meeting 2018.Abstract submission
